ABSTRACT: Thermal stability signatures of biological fluids, comprised of a complex milieu of protein can be measured using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The DSC is a powerful tool in monitoring changes in the protein equilibrium that is perturbed by disease or cancer through amplification, modification, or multiple interactions of proteins and peptides. Through thermal denaturation of the proteins in a body fluid or tissue, trends have emerged that are linked to disease type and its progression, making DSC a complement to historical diagnostic techniques.
